Avido Khahaifa is Publisher and Editor-in-chief of Orlando Sentinel Media Group, an award-winning multiplatform media company. His focus is on accelerating the company’s digital growth, increasing operational efficiency and furthering the company’s strategic initiatives.
He joined Orlando Sentinel in 2005 as Senior Vice President and General Manager before adding Director of Content for Tribune Company’s Florida newspapers in 2010. He assumed the role of Orlando Sentinel Editor in 2013.
Prior to joining Orlando Sentinel, Avido was with the Sun Sentinel for 20 years and held multiple positions, including: Vice President/Managing Director, President of Forum Publishing Group, Director of Cross-Media Operations, and various management positions in the Editorial and Advertising departments. His career began as a news clerk for the Tallahassee Democrat in 1982 and he had a brief stint as a replacement reporter at the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.
Avido is active in the community and is currently on the board of directors for the Heart of Florida United Way, Orlando Economic Development Commission and Florida Press Association.
Avido is a 1984 graduate of Florida A&M University. He was born in New York City and grew up in the Catskill Mountains area, north of the city.
Nancy A. Meyer
Nancy A. Meyer is the Publisher of the Sun Sentinel Media Group, Fort Lauderdale, Fla. and General Manager of the Orlando Sentinel, Orlando, Fla. and Daily Press, Newport News, Va.
Prior to returning to Florida, she spearheaded a significant operational and digital transformation at the New Jersey Media Group, part of the USA Today Network that included The Record, NorthJersey.com, the Herald News, (201) Magazine and a portfolio of more than 30 community publications.
Formerly, she held roles as Publisher and CEO of the Orlando Sentinel Media Group, Orlando, Fla. and the Hartford Courant, Hartford, Conn. In 2015, the Orlando Sentinel was awarded A “Top Ten That Do It Right” by Editor and Publisher.
Previously, she was the Chief Revenue Officer of Advertising at CT1 Media, which included the Hartford Courant, WTIC-TV (Fox CT) and WCCT-V (CT) television. While in this position, Nancy led the integration of the newspaper and television station advertising and digital operations, unlike any other in the country. She was promoted to that role from her former position as Vice President of Advertising, Strategies and Targeted Media for the Hartford Courant.
She speaks frequently to community and professional groups regarding the media industry, women in leadership and the transformation of traditional media to the digital platform.
Nancy is passionate about her involvement in the communities where she serves and has been active with many professional, industry and community organizations. She has served on the Orlando Economic Development Commission’s Governors Council, Executive Committee and Board of Directors, the Central Florida Commission on Homelessness, Visit Orlando, and the Central Florida Transportation Task Force. She is a cancer survivor and works extensively with Susan G. Komen - Southern New England.
Meyer attended the University of Hartford in Hartford, Conn., majoring in Communication
Studies and is working on her M.S. in Communication Studies with a focus on Journalism Innovation at Syracuse University-Newhouse School.
GENERAL MANAGER OF DIGITAL SALES
Jared Feller is Orlando Sentinel’s General Manager of Digital Sales. He oversees all digital advertising revenue development throughout Central Florida. Through strong leadership and digital experience he manages a team of digital sales consultants whose focus is on growing digital revenue.
Over the last 10 years he has worked in collaboration with digital sales and marketing leaders and has an extensive background throughout the digital space including: programmatic, social media, branded content, digital video, mobile, tablet applications to name a few. Jared comes to us having great success leading digital sales teams to consistently exceed goals and deliver excellence.
Jared holds a B.A. in Criminal Justice, with a minor in psychology / sociology, from the University at Hartford.
DIRECTOR OF LOCAL RETAIL AND AUTO
Greg has been with Orlando Sentinel Media group for more than 25 years. His experience at the Sentinel includes working a variety of sales and management positions including classified telephone sales, local territory sales, national sales, print/digital special sections and new business development. He was named Local Retail Division Manager in 2008 and added the Automotive sales team to his responsibilities when he became Director of Local Retail and Auto in 2010.
Greg is a graduate of the University of Florida School of Journalism and Communications where he majored in Advertising.
GENERAL MANAGER, TRIBUNE DIRECT SOUTHEAST REGION
Kevin was recently appointed to lead the newly created Tribune Direct Southeast Region, a combination of Sun Sentinel Media Group (South Florida) and Orlando Sentinel Media Group direct marketing business units. Kevin is an 18-year veteran of Sun Sentinel and has successfully led the Tribune Direct Fort Lauderdale office for the past 12 years.
Kevin has a deep background in data and has been a leader in innovating with Tribune Direct’s new capabilities in direct response and marketing automation. He graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Electrical Engineering.
