Avido Khahaifa is Publisher and Editor-in-chief of Orlando Sentinel Media Group, an award-winning multiplatform media company. His focus is on accelerating the company’s digital growth, increasing operational efficiency and furthering the company’s strategic initiatives.
He joined Orlando Sentinel in 2005 as Senior Vice President and General Manager before adding Director of Content for Tribune Company’s Florida newspapers in 2010. He assumed the role of Orlando Sentinel Editor in 2013.
Prior to joining Orlando Sentinel, Avido was with the Sun Sentinel for 20 years and held multiple positions, including: Vice President/Managing Director, President of Forum Publishing Group, Director of Cross-Media Operations, and various management positions in the Editorial and Advertising departments. His career began as a news clerk for the Tallahassee Democrat in 1982 and he had a brief stint as a replacement reporter at the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.
Avido is active in the community and is currently on the board of directors for the Heart of Florida United Way, Orlando Economic Development Commission and Florida Press Association.
Avido is a 1984 graduate of Florida A&M University. He was born in New York City and grew up in the Catskill Mountains area, north of the city.
VICE PRESIDENT OF ADVERTISING
John has been Director of Advertising at Orlando Sentinel since March 2008. He began his media career at South Florida’s Sun Sentinel in 1989. Hired as a Territory Sales Rep, he moved to Automotive Sales. Later, he became Real Estate/Recruitment Manager and eventually Classified Director. John has seen many changes in the media business since 1989, but the desire to find solutions for his clients through our vast portfolio of products has remained consistent.
John is currently a board member of Florida Press Service/Intersect Media Solutions and also a member of Florida Citrus Sports. He previously served on the Regional Board of Take Stock in Children and was a board member of the NAA Classified Federation.
DIRECTOR OF DIGITAL SALES & MEDIA STRATEGY
Dana Wardeh is responsible for developing multimedia sales strategies for the National, Major Retail, Classified and Ad Operations divisions. She leads a team focused on delivering creative solutions including print, digital, mobile, direct, database and events for our most loyal customers.
Dana graduated Cum Laude from Florida State University with a degree in Communications. She joined the Sentinel in 2001 as a part of a competitive year-long multimedia sales track that gave her extensive training in all areas of media and marketing. Since that time Dana has worked in various sales, management and leadership positions and is an active past board member of the FNAME (Florida Newspaper Advertising and Marketing Executives).
When not at work, Dana can be found spending time outdoors with her husband and kids enjoying the beautiful Florida weather.
DIRECTOR OF LOCAL RETAIL AND AUTO
Greg has been with Orlando Sentinel Media group for more than 25 years. His experience at the Sentinel includes working a variety of sales and management positions including classified telephone sales, local territory sales, national sales, print/digital special sections and new business development. He was named Local Retail Division Manager in 2008 and added the Automotive sales team to his responsibilities when he became Director of Local Retail and Auto in 2010.
Greg is a graduate of the University of Florida School of Journalism and Communications where he majored in Advertising.
GENERAL MANAGER, TRIBUNE DIRECT SOUTHEAST REGION
Kevin was recently appointed to lead the newly created Tribune Direct Southeast Region, a combination of Sun Sentinel Media Group (South Florida) and Orlando Sentinel Media Group direct marketing business units. Kevin is an 18-year veteran of Sun Sentinel and has successfully led the Tribune Direct Fort Lauderdale office for the past 12 years.
Kevin has a deep background in data and has been a leader in innovating with Tribune Direct’s new capabilities in direct response and marketing automation. He graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Electrical Engineering.
